Police seek tips to locate escaped inmate in Prince Albert



Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating an inmate who escaped from the Saskatchewan Penitentiary in Prince Albert.


Glen Fredrick Richard Halkett, 29, was discovered missing during the 9:30 p.m. routine count on Tuesday evening, according to the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC).


The inmate is described as five-foot, eight inches tall, weighing 168 lbs with a fair complexion, brown eyes, and black hair. He has a tattoo on his neck and under his left eye.


The CSC says a warrant for the inmate arrest has been issued after it contacted Prince Albert RCMP.


According to CSC, Halkett is currently serving a sentence of two years, nine months and three days for various offences, including break and enter, possession of stolen property, and motor vehicle theft.


Anyone with information on Halkett’s whereabouts is asked to contact the police.


CSC says it will investigate the circumstances of this incident and is working with the police to locate the offender as quickly as possible
