The worst performers of the session were Sao Martinho SA (BVMF:), which fell 8.07% or 2.02 points to trade at 23.00 at the close. BRF SA (BVMF:) declined 6.96% or 1.68 points to end at 22.47 and LWSA SA (BVMF:) was down 6.87% or 0.23 points to 3.12.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 506 to 427 and 69 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sao Martinho SA (BVMF:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 8.07% or 2.02 to 23.00. Shares in Embraer SA (BVMF:) rose to all time highs; up 3.57% or 2.07 to 60.13. Shares in LWSA SA (BVMF:) fell to 3-years lows; losing 6.87% or 0.23 to 3.12.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.01% or 27.50 to $2,745.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.14% or 0.90 to hit $77.81 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 1.03% or 3.40 to trade at $327.05 .
USD/BRL was up 0.74% to 6.05, while EUR/BRL rose 0.81% to 6.23.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 108.81.
