Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 0.53% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the rose 0.53%.

The best performers of the session on the were Champion Microelectronic Corp (TW:), which rose 10.00% or 5.00 points to trade at 55.00 at the close. Meanwhile, New Asia Construction & Development Corp (TW:) added 9.91% or 1.60 points to end at 17.75 and Chateau International Development Co Ltd (TW:) was up 9.89% or 3.05 points to 33.90 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Taiwan Taffeta Fabric Co Ltd (TW:), which fell 7.67% or 1.25 points to trade at 15.05 at the close. Shunsin Technology Holdings Ltd (TW:) declined 6.89% or 17.50 points to end at 236.50 and Chung Fu Tex-International Corp (TW:) was down 5.56% or 2.00 points to 34.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in New Asia Construction & Development Corp (TW:) rose to all time highs; rising 9.91% or 1.60 to 17.75.

Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.08% or 0.06 to $77.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.22% or 0.18 to hit $80.61 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.46 to trade at $2,749.16 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was down 0.44% to 32.78, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.27% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 108.97.
