The social media account of a well-known educational platform was reportedly targeted in a cyberattack, leading to its unauthorized compromise.
Giggle Academy founder Changpeng Zhao told followers of Giggle Academy to be cautious in dealing with their X account, confirming that their social media account had been hacked.
Zhao, who is also the founder of the Binance crypto exchange, urged Giggle Academy followers to be careful when interacting with any content from their hacked X account, denying social media posts about the appointment of a new CEO of the educational platform.
Zhao said that his team at the academy is trying to regain control of the X account following the unfortunate security breach incident.

The Binance founder explained that, together with Giggle Academy CEO Gigi Broverman, they have been working round the clock to gain control of the compromised account, saying that they want to put an end to all the misinformation that the hackers are trying to spread on the internet.
Giggle Academy is a start-up by Binance founder Changpeng ‘CZ’ Zhao. The hack has led to the spread of misleading information and phishing attempts among its followers.
According to Zhao, the hacker/s posted that the Giggle Academy has a new CEO, adding that the unscrupulous individual sent phishing links to the educational platform’s followers who were unaware of the situation.
Hence, the Binance founder posted a warning on his X account telling Giggle Academy followers to disregard any content posted by the platform’s account because it has been compromised.
The hacking incident involving Giggle Academy raised concerns about how secure and protected online educational platforms are from cyber breach, highlighting the need to further boost its security features.
As an online institution, Giggle Academy provides education to children and teenagers who are residing in underprivileged and low-literacy areas around the world. Hence, the hacking incident could also compromise the education of these learners who are part of the disadvantaged sector of society.

It also showed that educational platforms are now becoming targets of hackers because they use digital tools and platforms in teaching.
Speaking about the project’s vision, Zhao previously disclosed that their mission is to empower underserved communities by giving them the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in the digital economy.
Some analysts are questioning the reliability of online educational material considering that these materials are being used by learners in low-literacy countries.
Zhao established the Giggle Academy to reform the global educational system by introducing a platform that uses game-based learning, blockchain technologies, and AI in learning sessions.
