Homeland Security agent fatally shoots protester in Minneapolis – National

Minnesota’s governor says federal agents shot another person in Minneapolis Saturday morning.

Speaking during a news conference Saturday afternoon, Gov. Tim Walz sharply criticized federal authorities and said Minnesota would take control of the investigation.

Walz said he had reviewed video of the incident.

“I’ve seen the videos from several angles and it’s sickening,” he said. “But I have a strong statement here for our federal government. Minnesota’s justice system will have the last word on this. It must have the last word.”

Earlier, Walz demanded an end to the federal immigration crackdown in his state.

“Minnesota has had it,” he posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “This is sickening. The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.”
